Run jump throw

On Wednesday the 16th the inquirers syndicate went to the run jump throw trials. The trials were to pick the team for the upcoming interschool athletics competition that goes by the name of run jump throw. There were a variety of sports to try out for, and the people who did the best in all of the sports goes to the competition.  I don't think I got in but the trials were fun anyway.

Sir Jon Trimmer

On the 5th  of November Sir Jon Trimmer came to my school. He did a lot of things including a lot of speaking (including how he dropped and caught the world's most famous ballerina) And got into some other things, One of which was doing miming. He was doing the part of Cinderella (which I'm not too particularly interested in anyway) When the royal shoemaker tries to make another glass slipper. We had to mime the whole thing twice, So we were basically knackered by the time we were finished. All round it was a very (interesting) visit from Sir Jon.

Cloak of protection

This week we played the card game cloak of protection. It is a game that depicts the native birds of Aotearoa. The objective is to make a cloak shape out of 15 cards, in one realm. The realms are: sea, extinct, forest and settlement. There is a competition going on, and it is for who can play the most games of cloak of protection. Our school won the whole cloak of protection week, which meant we played the most games. Yay!

Frank Van Kampen shield

On Thursday the whole of Kapanui school went to either the netball courts to watch the netball or the rugby field at Waikanae park to watch the  rippa rugby or the tackle rugby. I went to watch the tackle rugby. We played against Waikanae school, and we lost unfortunately but I'm sure everyone still had lots of fun.

Art week

This week was art week. Art week is a fun and creative week in which we made cardboard masks and plush felt monsters. First we made the masks, which are made from cardboard and look like this:

Then we made the felt monsters, which are made from felt, polyester fibre and stitches, and they look like this:
